Due to an overwhelming response, with over 6.2 lakh applications already received, the government has extended the application deadline for the PM Internship Scheme 2025.

PM Internship Scheme Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit

Who IS Eligible to Apply?

• Nationality: You must be a citizen of India.
• Age: Your age should be between 18 and 24 years. (Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories: 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST).
• Education: You must have completed one of the following from a recognized board or university:
  • Class 10 + ITI certificate
  • Class 12 (Intermediate) + AICTE-recognized Diploma
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (like BA, B.Sc, B.Com).
• Employment Status: You can apply if you are currently unemployed or enrolled in a distance/online learning program.

Who is NOT Eligible?

• Professional Degree Holders: Candidates with professional degrees (like B.Tech, MBA, MBBS, LLB, CA, CS) or any Master’s degree are not eligible, as other dedicated schemes exist for them.
• Graduates from Premier Institutes: Students from IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, and similar institutions are not eligible for this particular scheme.
• High-Income Families: If your family’s annual income for FY 2023-24 was more than ₹8 lakhs, you are not eligible.
• Currently Employed: Individuals with a full-time job cannot apply.
• Previous Interns: If you have already completed an internship under NATS or NAPS, you are not eligible.

May 15, 2025: Internship Begins – The first batch of interns will start their 12-month program. Each intern will receive a one-time joining stipend of ₹6,000 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). October 12, 2024 – March 31, 2025: Registration Period (Extended) – Eligible candidates can register, complete their profiles, and apply for internships across multiple sectors. There are no registration or application fees.

April 1, 2025: Shortlisting Process – All applications submitted by March 31, 2025, will be reviewed by the government, and shortlisted profiles will be forwarded to participating companies. Late applications will not be considered.

April 2 – April 15, 2025: Company Selections – Partner companies will evaluate shortlisted candidates and select interns according to their needs.

April 16 – April 30, 2025: Offer Acceptance – Selected applicants will receive internship offers. If the first offer is declined, they may receive up to two additional offers.

  • Bank Details: Ensure your bank account is Aadhaar-seeded to receive payments.

Step 6: Complete e-KYC

• Verify your identity using either Aadhaar authentication or DigiLocker.

What is PM Internship Scheme Stipend Amount?
